SUMMARY:Webinar - Part 1: From Scan to Plan: Using CBCT More Effectively in Implant Dentistry
DESCRIPTION:CBCT has become an essential part of implant treatment planning\, but the value of the scan depends on both the quality of the image and how systematically it is reviewed. This course moves beyond the basic use of CBCT and focuses on practical factors that can influence diagnostic accuracy and implant planning\, including field of view\, resolution\, patient movement\, artifacts\, and the limitations of CBCT imaging. \nParticipants will also review a systematic approach to evaluating CBCT volumes and recognizing relevant anatomy in three dimensions. Clinical examples will demonstrate how image quality\, scan limitations\, and careful review can affect implant treatment decisions and help reduce avoidable complications. \nThe goal of this course is to help clinicians use CBCT more effectively and consistently as part of implant treatment planning by improving their understanding of image quality\, imaging limitations\, systematic review\, and relevant 3D anatomy. \n  \nLearning Objectives\nBy the end of this webinar\, participants will be able to: \n\nIdentify factors that can affect CBCT image quality\, including field of view\, resolution\, patient movement\, metal artifacts\, and scatter.\nRecognize situations in which scan quality or CBCT limitations may compromise interpretation or treatment planning.\nApply a systematic approach to reviewing CBCT volumes for implant cases rather than evaluating only the proposed implant site.\nEvaluate relevant anatomy in multiple planes and recognize anatomic variations that may influence implant placement.\nUse CBCT findings more effectively when making implant treatment-planning decisions.
