This course will discuss indications for immediate placement into a socket site following an extraction and immediate loading of temporary teeth so the patients have “same-day” teeth following the placement of the implant(s).  A thorough overview of predictable implant placement and restoration techniques will be discussed in a simple and easy to follow manner. This introductory to intermediate program will not be over your head or too advanced – but provide the basics on getting started with your implant journey or refining your implant placement techniques.  This course will also introduce you to guided dental implants if you are not already using guided surgery for your dental implants. Learn how guided dental surgery with surgical guides can make your implants more predictable. \n\n\n\n\n\n\n* PLEASE NOTE: THE LIVE PATIENT COMPONENT FOCUSES ON EXTRACTIONS & GRAFTING. DESCRIPTION:Course Description  \n​The Dental Implant Surgical Seminar (DISS) helps general and restorative dentists expand their private practice into implant surgery. The seminar provides a thorough introduction to the basics of dental implant surgery and hands-on training in soft tissue management and anatomical structures. \n​The DISS Implant seminar consists of one day of lectures and two days of surgery. Lectures are given by veteran practitioners who have placed thousands of implants and held academic positions in implantology at highly regarded institutions such as the New York University College of Dentistry. Digital lecture files are provided to each participant. Then\, all participants get a hands-on surgical experience\, placing multiple implants in live-patients through computer-guided surgery. All live-patient surgeries are performed at the state-of-the-art UFM facility and are supervised by the DISS team of implant surgeons. \n​The advantage of DISS is that you will practice on your first patient’s 3D-printed jaw model before the actual surgery. This feature of the course allows you to be comfortable and confident before your first surgery\, and it improves patient outcomes and overall experience. Each dentist can expect to perform at a minimum of ten extractions\, and have the opportunity to do many more if desired\, including full upper and/or lower cases.
