• Atraumatic and efficient extraction techniques that preserve bone and shorten surgery time in preparation for dental implants and/or a denture;
• How to achieve predictable grafting results including an overview of what materials to use, when and why – including the importance of membranes;
• The proper armamentarium for leveling bone and grafting predictably;
• Suturing techniques that achieve consistent primary closure, including proper suturing when placing a membrane;
• The pre-operative planning and surgical techniques involved to set the foundation for dental implant placement;
• How to get started with implementing single and multiple dental implants into their practice, including each of the following on a high-level basis’;
• Diagnosis and treatment planning;
• Restorative options & suggested costs;
• Anatomical Considerations;
• Safe & predictable posterior implant strategies;
• Implant protocol for posterior Implant placement;
• Aesthetic & functional considerations;
• Radiographic interpretation & planning;
• 3D virtual treatment planning;
• Surgical guide overview;
• Indications for immediate loading and “same-day” teeth;
• Provisional and permanent restorations;
• Surgical set-up & instrumentation – including surgical & prosthetic components;
• Case presentation for patient acceptance that works;
• Implant marketing overview;
• Complication management;
• Medication protocols;
• Lab communication for optimal results;
• Proven patient communication techniques to explain the procedures to your patients to ensure patient acceptance of your treatment plans; and
• Proven business and marketing tips on how to make your office more profitable and efficient related to extractions, grafting and dental implants.
In addition to extraction and grafting techniques this course is geared towards GP’s who want to learn how to get started with implementing single and multiple dental implants into their practice, or GP’s that are already placing implants but more predictable results. This course will discuss indications for immediate placement into a socket site following an extraction and immediate loading of temporary teeth so the patients have “same-day” teeth following the placement of the implant(s). A thorough overview of predictable implant placement and restoration techniques will be discussed in a simple and easy to follow manner. This introductory to intermediate program will not be over your head or too advanced – but provide the basics on getting started with your implant journey or refining your implant placement techniques. This course will also introduce you to guided dental implants if you are not already using guided surgery for your dental implants. Learn how guided dental surgery with surgical guides can make your implants more predictable.
* PLEASE NOTE: THE LIVE PATIENT COMPONENT FOCUSES ON EXTRACTIONS & GRAFTING. NO LIVE PATIENT IMPLANTS WILL BE PLACED BY CLASS PARTICIPANTS.
Course is open to licensed U.S. and Canadian dentists only. No special license or additional insurance is needed for out-of-state dentists.
If you are only looking for extraction experience and are not interested in grafting and dental implants at this time, please consider the AMP1 program. AMP1 is not a prerequisite for AMP2, where AMP2 can be taken without taking AMP1.
Day 1:
CLASSROOM
Participants will perform grafting and suturing techniques on dental models in a classroom setting. Participants will also place a guided dental implant on a model.
Implants, models, surgical motors, restorative materials, implant kits/drills will be provided. Each participant will get to keep their exercise models for patient education to assist them in their practice.

Day 2:
CLINIC FLOOR
Participants will be able to experience LIVE patient treatment, where they extract, graft and suture in a controlled and supervised environment to prepare the site for dental implants.
Each course participant can expect to perform multiple extractions with their partner. Most extractions will be difficult extractions, including broken down or decayed teeth, providing a great learning experience that may be outside your normal comfort zone. We will push each attendee to challenge themselves and assist with the cases as needed. Each dentist will have the opportunity to graft several socket sites using several different types of graft materials and membranes to determine what products you may like the best for your own practice. Grafting can be complicated and our faculty does a great job to keep everything simple and to ensure there is no confusion regarding grafting following the program. In addition to the extractions and grafting, the attendees will have the opportunity to section teeth, flap and suture.
